New Planet Pale Ale (formerly Off Grid Pale Ale) is a wonderful interpretation of the classic pale ale style. It has a distinctly deep amber color and great character and body. Three varieties of hops provide a wonderful aroma and a citrus and spicy hop flavor. This smooth gluten-free ale is made from sorghum and brown rice extract, molasses, tapioca maltodextrin, caramel color, hops, and yeast.

Holy hell this stuff is horrible. Poured a dirty orange with a white head. Aroma was of cardboard and vegetables. Flavor similar, but somehow even more off phtting, terrible bitterness that is not from hops, chemical like and stale malts. Just bad.

Clear pale golden pour with a single finger head. Lively carbonation. Smells like medicine. Super light mouth. Very medicinal. Mead like. Astringent alcohol finish.

12oz bottle (Courtesy of Headbanger) poured into a Shaker at 40į. Color is a nice golden brown with light carbonation and a very thin off white head. Aroma of caramel with a faint back note of citrus. It has a lighter body with a smooth clean mouth feel. Flavor is crystal malt, toffee and a little corn, then just a hint of citrus. After taste is clean then a bitterness comes out with a wort like taste. Has the same unfermented taste that is in the Blonde. Overall its not bad just a little odd.

Bottle in la. dark pour with yellow tones and an outsized coarse head. Didnít realize this one was gluten-free. Damn. Molasses knows, some sourness. Nuts. (Thatís a deScriptor, not an exclamation). Flavor is terrible. Sweet-and-sour, Something like drinking a terrible English brown hail through dirty lines. Cops are basically nowhere to be found, contra the commercial deScription. I can barely finish this but Iím too embarrassed to just go order something else. I feel sorry for those with celiacís; in their place I would stick to whiskey.

Backlog rating on 9-22-2012 (Bottle) This beer has a very small smooth off-white head with a long retention, gold transparent body, very fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is yeasty and citrus hops. The flavor is citrus hops, moderately bitter and yeasty. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. I do not care for the flavor of this beer. It is quite odd and disjointed and is a beer I do not recommend nor is it a beer I want again.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2015 "the hops are the show here, and i admit i kinda dig how they interact with the otherwise generic tasting corn adjuncty flavor and aroma. iíd drink this if offered. a touch of yeast with the citrus. ok beer."

I really havenít cared much for any of the gluten free beers that Iíve tried so far, but Iíll give this one a fair shake. Thanks to the addition of food coloring, itís got a caramel body and is filled with bubbles rushing up to the somewhat yellowish fizzy head. The nose is lightly citrusy over some soggy crackers. The flavor is fairly neutral, a soft malt-like sweetness, some flax, and a pulpish bitterness. I genuinely feel sorry for those who canít drink brews made from barley, wheat, rye...

Gluten free. Decent pour. Clear amber. Fizzy white head. Thin nose. A bit metallix. Some caramel and some hopes. Not really great ... but decent for gluten free.

Had at the Great Arkansas Beer Festival 2014. I want to like this, so that my gluten free friends can enjoy beer also. But this is just yucky. Oh well.
