Cask, gravity dispense at Twickenham Beer Festival 2015. Very dark brown, clear, still, small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is chocolate cheesecake with cream, chocolate gateaux too. Very nice and inviting. Body is light, smooth, watery. Taste is light and sweet, sugary malt, very watery flavour, soggy biscuits. Blergh. A pity, because this smells great.

Cask at The Watford Beer Festival 2012. Poured a dark brown, with a rocky beige head. Aroma of coffee, earth and toffee. Treacle and dark malt flavours, with some ash. Finish was grainy, with grassy hop and burnt bitterness.

Gravity Cask @ Cambrain Railway Station as part of Oswestry Food & Drink Festival July 14. Pours like flat coke, black, minimal bubbles. Mild malts, muted fruits, very light flavours.. a bit forgettable.

Hand-pulled half-pint after a long day of drinking: 24 Aug 2013, in the last pub of the day, The Crown Inn, Oakengates. Deep ruby body, headless with a thin beige collar. Slightly off-ish aroma, turning to vinegar maybe: should have took it back I suppose. Taste wasn’t much better actually. Some chocolate and coffee notes, but the beer was ’on the turn’. I’ll re-review if I ever have it again.
