COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Occasionally life takes you to unfamiliar places and it is easy to get lost in the world of craft beer. We strayed into uncharted dark territory when Skylight batches 23 & 25 turned acidic. The brew was too tasty to dump, so we decided to age it on Merlot oak and bottle. Time developed a tart, tannic flavor with a sweet vinous finish. Ancient navigators used the astrolabe to locate heavenly bodies and this beer helped us find our way to you.

Its color is muddy red rustic. It smells like merlot and mustard smothered hotdogs. Weird, I know, but even being a vegetarian, I had to take a taste...and am I ever glad I did! Light on the palate...very acidic and sour. Like doing a shot of Merlot and then sucking on a lemon. Crazy strange goodness. Yum yum yum! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had this at a tasting: pours a darker reddish brown color with off-white head. Tartness, light fruits, and oak on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes tart and dry.

I havenít sampled the target beer yet but itís hard to imagine itís this good. Marries the best aspects of dry red wine (not at all a wine fan but if thatís what Iím drinking I prefer dry and red) and sour beer. Tartness is more lemon than cherry and doesnít build as you drink it.

Dark reddish brown with a short-lived beige head. Aroma of sweet and sour cherries, wood, and apple. The taste is delightfully tart with some woodiness and very mild sweetness. Dry and medium bodied with soft carbonation. Good "oops."

Aroma of wine and vinegar. Appearance is a beautiful hazy amber with no head. Taste is very sour but not bitter. Cherries, oak and ... lemons? The taste is not subtle and it makes you pucker, but it has such a soft finish and beautiful pallet that you want another drink almost right away. Probably because you're thinking "what the hell was that?"... It was a very good and unusual beer, that's what it was, Jackass. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Disclosure: I own the brewery. Aroma: apple, cherry Appearance: clear, reddish-brown, tan head Taste: tart cherry, light sweetness, medium-high sourness, very low bitterness Palate: light body, dry finish, effervescent Overall: Among the best sours Iíve had. Similar to Jacobins Rouge or the Duchess.
