2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Nickls (1297) - SE DC, Washington DC, USA - JUN 20, 2010
(Old BA rate - tap)
Fairly clear light orange-gold color; half-finger of creamy white head. Lightly citric and grassy hop aromas; really mellow all around. Decent hop presence; a little grainy; not too sweet on the malt bill. Eh. Thinner; very soft carbonation. Decent enough, but not great. Easy and relatively brainless. Overall, not a bad stab, but not really all that great.

i dont like english pale ales, and this one is not one to like even if you do. im not sure these guys really brew a beer that is all that impressive. they certainly need to do some work on their beers. there is potential, but without the use of hops yeast malts or barley, it becomes more difficult to make beer. sampled at brewgrass 04 on draught.

Drank this at Broadway on the Beach in Myrtle Beach. Orangish/copper with minimal head (Don't know how long the bartender let it sit), nice hoppy aroma. Smooth drinkable pale ale, some bitter bite. Good finish. Decent beer.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Suttree (3765) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 16, 2003
Brewgrass Festival, Asheville, NC 2003. Brownish orange. Bready malty aroma. Piney, earthy hop flavor, then a faint but persistant malt presence. A nice session ale.

Coppery malty flavor. Nothing more than a usual pale ale. Not bad, not great. Low on hops in the finish. Smooth finish, however.
