COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
New South’s White Ale is an American interpretation of a classic Belgium wheat ale. This light and refreshing ale is brewed with just a hint of a orange zest. Like all of New South’s draft ales and lagers, our White Ale is always fresh and satisfying.

Location: Draft at T-Bonz Charleston, 12/8/12

Aroma: There’s not a ton here, some wheat notes and not much else
Appearance: It pours a pale gold color, a little hazy, with no head or lace to it
Flavor: It tastes similar to the nose, but a hint better, wheat, yeast, and lemon
Palate: This one has pretty light body, with a fairly dull but fine feel, and a short duration
Overall Impression:  This was really not that much of a beer. The 1/3 of a pint I drank was more than enough for me.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2012 Pours a murky orangish-yellow with a small bright white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is oranges, floral, spices and bread. Not bad, but a bit too faint though. Taste is light spice and malt up front with a doughy taste not unlike uncooked biscuits. As it warms, the orange, wheat and sour tastes come through. Certainly nothing too strong here tastewise. Clean, dry finish. Decently balanced palate. Light and somewhat thin with mild carbonation. Overall this is a decent, refreshing beer. I could certainly see fans of Blue Moon and similar lighter-tasting Belgian whites really enjoying the hell out of this.

can. hazy white, near light gold, with a large whipped head. standard aroma of with vanilla and spices. grainy with coriander notes in the flavor. a bit of the orange zest in the finish. carbonation is a bit low for the style.

Can poured into a pint glass. Appearance: Pale and hazy straw color. Not even a fingers worth of white head. Fades to nothing quickly. Aroma: Typical of the style. Mostly dominated by wheat. Somewhat faint citrus and coriander aromas. Taste: A tad under-flavored. Wheaty. Can says "brewed with just a hint of coriander and orange zest". I’d agree with that statement, "just a hint". Mouthfeel: A little on the thin side with soft carbonation. Finishes with a dry wheat. Very plain, rather unremarkable, and boring. Just a standard wit.

Appearance: Pours out a hazy, faint, pale yellow body with a small-sized, sudsy white head.

Smell: A light maltiness hinting a faint sweetness in the nose and just a touch of a honeyish quality.

Taste: Particularly pale maltiness with a trifling wheat character and a hint of honeyish sweetness. Low coriander and, here we are, waiting for some citrus that never really presents itself. Still, a light maltiness, a light pinch of coriander on the sweetish finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-light carbonation.

Overall: It’s light, lacking and it’s only real fault is it’s friggin’ boring, BUT, it’s a beer from Myrtle Beach sold in Myrtle Beach -- it’s hot, it’s sunny, and, damn, these people need refreshment, so that’s probably what it’s going for and I won’t begrudge it for that.

Tap flight. Light straw pour with a short lived white head. Faint wheat aroma. Taste is wheat and barley grain. Cleaning the mouth but flavor lingers. Decent.
