COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
“Bitter English”… it’s been nearly 240 years, they probably aren’t that bitter anymore, right? Anyway: this is our take on a traditional English Bitter, arguably the most widely-made style in all of the UK. Bitters are enjoyed in pubs all across the English countryside. You could even say that it’s the English Bitter-style that originated the idea of “sessionable”. Our version has a mineral dryness nicely complimented by a balanced hop bitterness. The beautiful, amber color is the result of crystal and brown malts. With a light body, low carbonation, and an ABV of 3.4%, it’s the perfect beer for your next session.

Of all the beers at this place, this one is by far my favorite. The clarity, the taste, the after taste, all of it wraps itself into a perfect little package. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Clear golden/light amber body. Frothy, off-white head. Aroma of light caramel, toasted grain, floral hops. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Clean malts. Slightly tangy finish. Appreciate the flavors in this session beer — and the balance and crispness. Aroma is a little light, but the flavor makes up for it.

Tap at Brewery. It is hard to find a bitter that is decent on tap in the states. Newburgh’s is what I look for in a bitter. Creamy fluffy white head, with copper color. It is smooth, creamy, but bitter. Low carbonation, like the pulled cask ales I sampled in England. The aroma is of flowery hops and an touch of malty bread and toffee. Palate is very smooth, but the finish is clean and bitter. Flavor was of buttery toffee, estery, and pine. It is a beer I want to sip and enjoy a second afterward.

Served on draft at Peekskill Brewing. Pours a clear amber color with a thin frothy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toasted malts and some faint hoppiness if you really look for it. The taste is toasted malts and herbal hops. Medium bodied.

On tap at brewery. Pours a clear copper tinged orange amber with a small white head. Gentle toast and malt, a bit lemony sweetness. Medium bodied, nice clean malt profile, a touch of hoppy bitterness. Clean and easy drinking. Another lovely session beer from Chris and company.
