On draft. Brewery lists ABV at 9.5%. Aroma of chocolate and fruit. Surprisingly pale. Flavors of chocolate, faint cherry, peach, apricot. Smooth finish. Fine, fine beer. A little more complexity and it?d be a stat.

Draft at Pony. Pours a hazy amber orange with white lacing. Aroma is sweet grapefruit drizzled with honey. Mouthfeel is medium, slick with notes of honey grapefruit, clementines, lots of sweet syrup - almost a touch too sweet - with additional flavors of pulpy citrus fruits and light alcohol.

Tap at brewery. Pours mostly clear bright gold with creamy white head. Aroma is heavy floral, pine, and grassy hops, citrus fruit, biscuit and cereal malts, and spice. Flavor is bready malts forward quickly followed by fresh floral and spicy hop bitterness, citrus fruit sweetness, and light toast; dry finish with some floral hop bitterness lingering. Medium body and low carbonation.

Odysseyalien (43) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 1, 2013
On tap last night at George Keeley’s, Upper West Side, NYC. This brew is the best East Coast interpretation of the West Coast double IPA. In fact, it may have even outdone many of those. The taste reminds me of Pliny the Elder. A bouquet of citrus envelopes the nose with a well done, bitter hoppiness on the tongue. Really a tasty, unexpected treat.

j12601 (6607) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - AUG 23, 2013
On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazed glowing orange gold with a thin white head. Big bold citrus and a touch of pungent spicy pith. Medium bodied, cool citrus and a good amount of spicy hop character. Slight warming alcohol present but still fairly well hidden for such a big beer. Long pungent grapefruit pith and quinine on the finish. Very nice.
