COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An Englishman’s first love is his brown ale. However, in the summer he often fancies blondes instead! With this inspiration, we’ve created Newcastle Bombshell, an English style blonde ale. The combination of Cascade, Hellertau and Northdown hops balance this golden coloured ale’s light aroma and bitterness with toasted malt to ensure a silky smooth finish. After one sip of this brew, we’re sure you’ll agree she’s a real bombshell.

Every single one of these Newcastle seasonals are absolute crap and I am officially done with them. Done.

Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours brassy gold with a slight foamy white head. Aroma is lightly malty with a light hop mix. Med minus body. Flavor is a rather old malt with some citrus and grass - but the malt is roasty, and that’s somewhat interfering with the hop aspects. It’s drinkable, but not really working for me.

12ounce bottle. Pours a clear golden yellow with a one inch white head that lasts. Good amount of carbonation. Taste is of malt, grass, grain, floral and hops. Mostly clean aroma. Has a decent body with a slightly dry and bitter finish. Very easy to drink, refreshing and rather enjoyable.

A crisp summer brew with a light body, slick texture, and long finish. Medium bitterness and lightly sweet. Enjoyable overall.

Bottled, golden color with decent frothy foam, metallic aroma with metallic fruit flavors, rounded finish

Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. A solid yellow color with a short lived head of white foam. The nose reminds me of a euro lager. The flavor has a mild bitterness paired with a little butter and grain. Overall, thin and flimsy on the palate, lacking character and flavor.

Golden pour with a white head. Aroma is grains. Taste is light, bisquity, grassy. Ok beer. I am glad I sampled it at the store rather than buy a bottle. I like the commercial way more than the beer though.

Newcastle Bombshell has a medium-to-thick, creamy, white head and a clear, bubbly, golden appearance. Lacing is pretty nice. The aroma is pungent, with a relatively strong, sweet & sour, beery smell, and the flavor is a white-wine, grain, lemon, and lightly-toasted barley mix. Actually, it tastes much more of alcohol than the 4.4%, but it all works. There is a fairly strong, somewhat sour aftertaste. Also, there is a nice, hefty bitterness present. Mouthfeel is light to medium and somewhat oily, and Newcastle Bomshell finishes mostly dry, refreshing, and quite drinkable. This is not a dull beer, and can go toe to toe with any other summer ale. Overall, it’s delicious, and I strongly suggest try it. RJT

Not much of an aroma and not sickening sweet like some other blond ales. Not a huge head but a great taste....light.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2014 From a 12 ounce bottle into an english pint glass and for some reason, thinking the ale should be a bit more darker, but of course not, this is a pale blond! a nice, quick hop hit mixes well with words. T’ain’t bad and I enjoy the marketing that goes into Newcastle’s "limited editions", still.
