SeanMacGC (233), Dublin, Ireland Dec 5, 2008 Bottle, 550ml. Pours dark mahogany, with raplidly vanishing head. Sweet malt on the nose, and sweet on the palate, with yeasty notes surfacing. Pleasant mouthfeel, and well rounded. nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Dec 2, 2008 Bottle and draught. This was my original favorite beer. It helped me branch out into the micro beer scene. Spab (237), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 30, 2008 500 ml can. Pours a dark but relatively clear reddish brown with very limited white head. Sweet malty nose, with a vague fruitishness. Taste of sweet malt with a hint of roastiness. Fairly light bodied. Slightly metallic aftertaste. yesyouam (587), Fairport, New York, USA Nov 28, 2008 Newcastle Brown Ale is a clear, sparkling brown ale with a dense, bubbly beige head that has nice retention and lacing. It has a malty, dusty, slightly sweet aroma. It smells a little like a cave. It is pretty light bodied and pretty smooth. It is delicately flavored; lightly sweet and lightly bitter. HermanW (618), Coevorden, Netherlands Nov 20, 2008 Toch herken ik hier weer de bekende ale. Ik drink niet zo vaak een ale dus......... ceffalo (38), , Texas, USA Nov 20, 2008 A very simple beer that’s very drinkable. A nice pour of golden brown color. Low abv, and refreshing.
Taste is of lightly roasted wheat and malt combination. Very tasty. A nice standard beer that’s not world class, but not bad. A bit watery, though. jbuzz (658), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Nov 2, 2008 very smooth and very drinkable brown ale. great with spicy food !!
