Newcastle Brown Ale was first brewed in 1927 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, by Jim Porter after three years of development. Production moved from Newcastle to Gateshead at the end of 2004.

Newcastle Brown Ale is a clear, sparkling brown ale with a dense, bubbly beige head that has nice retention and lacing. It has a malty, dusty, slightly sweet aroma. It smells a little like a cave. It is pretty light bodied and pretty smooth. It is delicately flavored; lightly sweet and lightly bitter.

A very simple beer that’s very drinkable. A nice pour of golden brown color. Low abv, and refreshing. Taste is of lightly roasted wheat and malt combination. Very tasty. A nice standard beer that’s not world class, but not bad. A bit watery, though.

jah. das es good beeren. little bit watered down though. i hate this word number requirement crap.

Draught. Brown colour with a quite small head. A bit sweet malty aroma. The flavour is sweet, nutty and malty. Slightly bitter finish and quite thin mouthfeel. Drinkable beer.

A bit overrated I believe. About average for a brown ale. I little watery and not a lot of aroma. Cut down for the masses I suspect.

Had this out of a bottle with no glass in sight. Nice dark color, hints of nutty in the nose. Very smooth mouthfeel and a nutty, almost sweet finish. Everyone at the table told me I wouldn’t enjoy this beer, but I can’t wait to buy a case.
