oberabcbbsok (686), Hoboken, Belgium Aug 28, 2008 Tasted on bottle. Little malty and a some bitter taste in it. Not to bad, just more then average Leighton (234), New York, New York, USA Aug 27, 2008 I had my first Newcastle tonight and I was damn pleased. Dark, rich brown color. No head to speak of but the beer does have enough body to fill you up a bit. Great flavor, kind of a caramel, chocolate type thing it’s got going. Real tasty. sneezey (110), Hackettstown, New Jersey, USA Aug 26, 2008 Malty and a bit bitter. Not as good an aroma as suggested by its style. A bit too carbonated and light on the hops. Not a bad beer by any means, but could be better. punainen6 (93), Finland Aug 24, 2008 Bottle. dark amber color. Aroma has caramel and malts. Nice carbonation coupled with a light caramel taste and some sourness. Not spectacular but a good beer to have once in awhile. superdude1979 (60), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 24, 2008 a very easy beer to drink. I agree with many that the taste can be bitter, but should be consumed at 55 dgrees in order to take down the taste a bit. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA Aug 21, 2008 (Bottle). Not much aroma. Color is reddish brown, almost no head. Flavor is watery, vague malts and caramel, somewhat skunky. If this were truly "the one and only", then I dare say there would be measurably fewer beer drinkers in the world. Neematoad (71), , Illinois, USA Aug 19, 2008 Carmel flavour, easy to drink with the just right amount of bitterness. Nice to have with a good dinner. Geuzelambix (110), København, Denmark Aug 19, 2008 Nice and tasty ale. Despute its mainstream tendency it’s clearly a pleasant experience - especially along with food. The aroma is the least special.
