Pours a nice opaque brown with a thin off white head. Aroma is slightly skunky and unpleasant, but the taste is quite the opposite. A nice crisp beer that is easy to drink.

Bottle, barely chilled. Gorgeous copper and clear as glass. The dense sand-colored foam is perfect and remains even after the glass is drained, and tissue paper lace hangs everywhere. Brown sugar, wet wool, and floral aromatics. Fruity flavor suggests watermelon and currants, toasted chestnut and almond, wood, and caramel chews. Medium-light mouthfeel, very silky and "wet." A classic English brown ale that satisfies and practically defines the style.

Bottles. Nice clear cola colored ale with almost no head. Crisp and dry on the palate with a nice balance malt and hop on the finish.

Bottle: A nice balance of nuttiness and malt in the nose and palate. Well-balanced with a rich and creamy mid-palate. This has always been an enjoyable one for me.

A few days ago, I had my first bottle of this beer in many years, but I drank a lot of it at one point in my college days, so expect my review to be tainted with a touch of nostalgia.

Nice brown ale with a small off-white head. Aroma is lightly malty. Flavor is malty and nutty with a touch of caramel sweetness. Easy to drink and enjoy with some friends and much better than most mass-produced beers. Overall, a pretty simple beer and honestly quite watery, but its still pretty good to me.

I’m in UK and really got into ales here, always like to try something new, just tried my first bottle of this one, warm evening while I tended my BBQ... Not anything particularly intense flavourwise but very drinkable and tasty none the less, someone here said tastes like a good homebrew, a good way to sum it up.

Brown color with off white head. Sweet malts with slight hop flavor on the way down.

My fave, hands down. Tastes like home made...and that’s a good thing.
