2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark orange to amber clear body with a small lasting head. Nose has caramel, hay and dark malts. Taste is mildly bitter with a short mild and dry finish. Carbonation is average. Decent but nothing spectacular.

IBU 24. Nothing I live better than a Newcastle brown in a frosty mug at the end of a long day. It's not a hoppy beer. It's not a syrup-like stout either. It's not an overly strong beer either. What it is is a smooth flavorful beer that is perfect to unwind with before heading to bed.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
About $4 for a single bottle at a bar that didnít have anything to offer that I was particularly interested in.
Appearance: Comes in a clear bottle... bad start. Pours decently, but still nothing special. A decent head lingers, but thereís no lacing (that I noticed). Very ordinary.
Smell: Eh... watered down... could smell a lot better. Dusty sorts of roasted malts give that roasty/coffee aroma, but it doesnít smell particularly good. The quality just isnít there.
Taste: Itís just OKAY. My dad said that in the í70s he used to drink this a lot and it tasted a lot better (citing that they probably changed the recipe, and that the beer was in brown bottles). Itís light like it ought to be given the ABV, but it just doesnít taste very good. Itís not bad thanks to the fact that thereís nothing off-putting and that itís not super sweet, but itís pretty mediocre.

On tap in Cupertino. Not the finest beer Iíve tasted, but considerably better than the bottled variety Iíve had in the UK.

Thin and watery. Very little creamy malt taste like i would expect from a brown ale. Taste almost similar to Budweiser. I really donít like this beer.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
My first time trying a Brown Ale so maybe I'm not the perfect guy to judge it... anyways, let's go:
A - Pours a dark brown beer that forms a modest off-white head. Head has good retention and forms modest lacing. The liquid is sparkling and vivid.
S - Average malt smell, I perceive some notes of apple and pear. Hops are light, with some citrus notes. Yeast is light, almost not perceived.
T - The taste is very good. The body is medium, at the beginning has some sweetness hints that gives rooms to some astringent bitterness after swallowing.
M - Creamy and soft carbonation. Astringent and bitterness aftermouth.
O - May not be and WOW beer, but I found it to be quite pleasant and something that I would on a regular basis. My personal rating would be around a 3.8 and 4.
