tompete (72), Burlington, Iowa, USA Mar 30, 2008 Medium brown with a white head and decent lacing. Malty nose with a suggestion of hops. Moderate darker crystal malt flavor mixed with roast nuts and a medium body. Very smooth. Slightly bitter finish. cb23 (97), St. louis, Missouri, USA Mar 28, 2008 Draft. Dark brown with small head with a little bit of lacing. tasted well, very smooth. not a whole lot of flavor going on, but there’s just enough to make it taste good. Very nicely balanced beer and goes great with chips or burgers. Solid beer that is very drinkable. AMN (127), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 28, 2008 Nice, easy drinker. Looks fine and tastes fine. Can’t pretend to taste any nut flavor, but still a solid choin wacohoover (100), Garland, Texas, USA Mar 27, 2008 Very good beer. There’s a reason it is a very popular import to the US - it taste great! Very smooth taste, sweet, malty and goes well with many varieties of food. I prefer this out of a bottle, rather than on draft, which could have something to do with the way it has to be kegged to get it to the US. One of my favorite beers of all time. porter4porter (32), Florida, USA Mar 26, 2008 Pours a nice golden brown with thin head, Nice toffee aroma, sweet and nutty, malty that balances well with the hops, an excellent and readily available beer CSAdams (6), Milford, Delaware, USA does not count Mar 24, 2008 Pours a golden brown, moderate thickness. Sweet and malty. Even people who don’t like beer will like newcastle. Very easy to drink, one of my top session beers. Slipstream (734), USA Mar 24, 2008 Classic label that proclaims it "the one and only." It has to be one of the most popular beers that gets imported into the USA, that is for sure. Light head on a solid-looking brown base. Malty aroma. It is a pleasantly sweet, malt-dominated brew, with moderate, but tasty hops. A little insubstantial, but enjoyable, kind of like an old friend that comes by from time to time. This is a bit like Coca-Cola. Would it be fair to call Newcastle the Coca-Cola of beers? wheatfreak (41), Marinette, Wisconsin, USA Mar 23, 2008 Updated: Mar 24, 2008Newcastle, ahh, "the one and only." This is one of the first import beers I’d had. Sure there are better beers, but its easy to find and easy to drink- provided you don’t get a skunky one. Because of the clear bottles, I try to get this in the 12 packs, as they are better protected from uv intrusion.
