wheatfreak (41), Marinette, Wisconsin, USA Mar 23, 2008 Updated: Mar 24, 2008Newcastle, ahh, "the one and only." This is one of the first import beers I’d had. Sure there are better beers, but its easy to find and easy to drink- provided you don’t get a skunky one. Because of the clear bottles, I try to get this in the 12 packs, as they are better protected from uv intrusion. Plimmer (251), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 21, 2008 Can 50cl. Dark brown clear body with modium size white head. Generally soft and easy drinking with not too complicated notes of malt. daknole (2810), Plantation, Florida, USA Mar 19, 2008 Smooth and easy to drink. Nothing amazing, but a steady good brew for sure. Better on tap. Tweety (337), Vancouver, Washington, USA Mar 18, 2008 Updated: Apr 22, 2008We’ve all had Newcastle. It’s a good beer, with a light brown pour and white head. Sweet to the taste, goes down very smooth. lucke13 (90), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Mar 17, 2008 Pours a dark brown with off white head. Smells of caramel and malt with a hint of coffee. Taste is hard candy with molasses and some malt flavors. Medium body with a sweet aftertaste. BorksBabe (81), Tampa, Florida, USA Mar 17, 2008 Aroma is of molasses and toffee. Appearance is very nice-- thin head but laces the glass slightly. Its flavor is hoppy with a hint of caramel. Smooth on the palate- overall a very nice beer! rman18 (200), South Amboy, New Jersey, USA Mar 17, 2008 I had this on tap and it is absolutely terrible. It tastes like a micholob ultra with brown dye. The head was very thin and white. The color was as it is in the picture. The flavor was dull at best and the palate was practically none.
I can’t believe it is rated this high on here... I expected it to be as high as O’Douls. BeerMeDude (28), USA Mar 16, 2008 Nice copper color. Smooth, velvet mouthfeel. Tastes sweet like caramel, honey, and nuts. Nothing overpowering, smooth and mellow start to finish. Good stuff.
