kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Feb 12, 2008 a weak malt and alcohol aroma. dark brown with red tint and a small tan head. tastes like apple, cocoa, spice, and grain. Gypsy19 (602), California, USA Feb 10, 2008 Updated: Jun 24, 2009This used to be my absolute favourite. Now, it’s just decent, and not as flavourful as some of my new favourites. The good thing about this is that it’s available in every bar, even in dives that have little selection other than Bud and MGD. Newcastle is great when out on the town because it’s tasty, available, and you can drink about 8 of them before you start getting rocked. tongatim (19), Bellingham, Washington, USA Feb 8, 2008 Very nice example of this style. I love the fine dance between the classic British hops and premium English malt.
The bottles of this ale that I have consumed have had varying degrees of skunkiness that in lower amounts seem to actually enhance the hop flavor. However I don’t really understand the reasoning behind packaging this beer in clear glass, and look forward to the day when I can taste it on draft or out of a can. JustinFromAL (114), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Feb 7, 2008 One of my favorite tap beers, with the limited supply in Alabama you’ll take what you can get. Great smell, flavor, and a good drink. One of my favorite to introduce my *lite friends to. semiotic (10), Walton Hills, Ohio, USA Feb 7, 2008 Easy on the palate, yet has a full flavor that won’t make you cringe. You can drink this beer all day long without having "sold out". Best of the mass-produced beers.
Well put by Ferris! Bielenberg (4), Galten, Denmark does not count Feb 7, 2008 A great overall Beer,
a bit malty taste with some character. All in all a good ale for enjoying. I like it a bit colder than other ales. Best of the mass-produced beers. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Feb 5, 2008 50 cL can. Pours clear hazzlenut brown with a huge slowly collapsing off-white head. Malty, mild caramel and slight hoppy aroma. Slight butterish flavour, mild sweetend, light liqourice note and light roasted note. Ends with a light off note from the malt and with a subdued bitterness. Decent.
