2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Poured from a 18.6 oz bottle into a dimple mug. No apparent born on date on the bottle
Aroma - Caramel, semi-sweet dark bread. Thereís a macro euro lager quality here (Heineken/ Stella) - skunky hops from the clear bottle? Doesnít hurt the beer but it doesnít help is either.
Appearance - Copper color with mahogany hues. Thin white head dissipates quickly but lots of lacing at the top of the glass.
Taste - Caramel, bread, mild nuttiness, metallic on the finish. Thereís some lemon-like pucker on the end which carries into the aftertaste. Relatively bland and thin.
Palate - Light bodied, rather thin. Lingering metallic quality is unwelcome.
Overall - One of my gateway beers. Its brown hue and caramel quality provides just enough exoticism to steer you away from the common marco lager. Fun for a trip down memory lane but not much more.

Bottle from Spar. Aroma toasted, fruity, dried fruits. Clear ruby-brown colour. Rather quickly disappearing head. Taste is bearing skunky notes of lightstruck which show despite the otherwise rich malty flavour. Toasted, dried fruits. Somewhat syrupy and raw. Lightstruck mostly in finish. Very thin bodied. Not bad, not exactly great either. Average.

Damn Iíve never rated this. Honestly this was a decent "bridge" beer for me back in the early 2000s as I traded up from yellow crappy.

Quite OK session beer. Nutty, caramelly, sweet. Toffee notes. Slightly watery, but thatís to be expected. They shouldnít package it in clear glass bottles, though.

From a bottle. Not as much head as expected, nice mild nutty flavour, much better fresh.
