Classic brown ale, no hop aroma. brown, clear, frothy, lightly bitter. I used to like this, but it can’t really compete with modern/american brown ale.

Bottle in local bar in Brighton. Clear amber brown with almost no head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Nice sweet and bitter tones. Caramel, malts, hops and herbs. A decent brew.

Mørk brun med hvitt medium skum. Grei aroma av karamell og litt sukker. Aroma av noe karamell og en syltynn bitterhet. Meget tynn konsistens. Vannaktig smak. Uinteressant.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with a frothy somewhat lasting beige head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of cereal, hay, sulfur rich hot springs. Very lightly bitter, faint flavor of caramel and stronger of shot firecrackers, average carbo, thin body and a very brief very light bitter finish.

All sorts of packaging. I was younger and this brew was better 15 years ago. Turned out to be macro brown ale, which became flatter, thinner and duller. I used to love it. Now I just by it once or twice a year to reminiscent old times when I was drinking it. Can is always better. Tap is above can in most cases. Clear bottle is often rancid and metallic.

Poured into a tumbler in late 2013. A: Reddish/brown. Very small fizzy head. S: Bitterness. T: Bitterness, caramel, chemical aftertaste. O: Slightly bitter first, then caramel, then a disgusting chemical aftertaste. It was ok at first, but then it became a chore drinking it down. Maybe brown ales aren’t for me.

Pours a clear dark amber/brown color ,topped with an average off-white head. Mild malty aroma, nice notes of caramel in there and also some chocolate. Taste starts sweet with notes of caramel, followed by bittery body and some chocolate notes in the aftertaste. Pretty good.
