A nice brown ale although it could use a little more flavor/body.

So-so. Pretty unimpressive. As a run of the mill brown ale, it takes a very moderate approach, as there are no extremes, good or bad, either way for this beer. It’s mild, exhibits a slight toffee-like sweetness and nutty malts, with moderate viscosity and carbonation.

Tap: pours a clear brown body with a small head. Aroma is weak but has nuts and caramel. As it warms it is incredibly nutty. Drink this cold and it’s watery swill. There’s also some artificial carbonation here that I really don’t like much. Still pretty thin and fizzy, but good for a mega mass produced beer.

This is the mainstream version of a brown ale. I cant complain. Aroma is faint. Appearance is a nice brown. Flavor falls a little flat with a hint of nuttiness. This was the beer that got me away from being a loyal Miller drinker and I owe it a huge debt of gratitude. I still buy it every once in a while and it's my beer of choice at the local Wild Wings. After all the different kinds of beer I've tried I'll still say it's a good beer!

lets see, draft. dark brown with a thin head. aroma is nutty with spice and vanilla. taste is nutty and at first i thought this was a green beans/veggie taste, but then it hit me this is a grains taste it’s like grape nuts without the horrid pellet unchewable quality. is also similar to a buttered rye or pumpernickle bread.sweet finish that leaves a crisp and refreshing mouthfeel almost like a dull sugar cookie, but not quite. but thats the best comparison i can come up with.

Bottle. Nice brown ale, with a subtle malty flavour. This is slightly sweet, with the refreshing properties of standard lager. This is a staple of UK pub life, and is OK, without ever being complex or tasty enough to be outstanding.

12 oz bottle. Pours a pleasant amber brown, small off white head. Weak nose of sweet malt, some brown sugar notes. Flavor is pretty disappointing - more malt, and a slightly metallic mineral-like flavor. Watery body. The weak finish is a reminder of the weaker nose, just some sweet malts. Not bad per se, just boring as hell.
