Pours dark cobber with an off-white diminishing head. Sweet and dry. Lots of caramel aromas. Mellow hoppy finish.

12 ounce can that I bought for some beer but chicken. Poured in to a English pint glass. Clear brown with a khaki head. No lace. Some visibale carbonation. Both the flavor and aroma featured a toasted nutty sweetness with some light English hop character. just a touch of bitterness. Easy drinking.

A great beer if you are starting to try dark beers. That is about where it ends

Sadly from a clear bottle. Aroma of skunky Heineken. Quick dissapearing head, moderate lacing and a ruby coloring. Mouthfeel is ok, a little hoppy finish. Need to try it off of a tap I suppose.

Bottle. Pours red brown with a beige head. Light aroma and flavor of caramel malt and brown sugar on top of a rather thin body.

Very drinkable beer that represents a classic brown ale. I think Newcastle Brown is underated, as a widely distributed beer it is better than most. Nice blend of sweet with some grain and nuttiness. Smooth finish and overall a very good beer.___***Wow, reading my original rating I realize how much of a sucker I was back then. Recent tastes indicate nothing like this... Grainy, malty, light nuts. Roasty and some odd sours. Lingering malty sour finish. Not bad, just not that great.
