One of the best brown ales out there. Caramel malt aroma. Pours dark amber/light brown with small white head. Taste is caramel malt with extremely smooth finish. Draft is best. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark brown with regular head which falls apart quickly. Aroma is not very compelling, metal and mud. Taste is very metallic, wih unpleasant yeast flavor. After taste is just bad. Not undrinkable but quite close!

I love it. It’s a great beer that is full of flavor and leaves a nice after taste.

I used to have a Newkie brown back in the day, before I knew better, and choices were slim. It is red-brown in color, light in body and flavor. Clear bottles are always a bad idea. It is not exactly a good representation of English Ales, even though they are lighter in flavor than what craft beer drinkers are used to. The folks in Newcastle Upon Tyne were having a laugh when they exported this. Cheers mate!

Pours like guiness but a bit lighter. Small head. Has the dark taste to it but not overwhelming. A good medium between a dark and light beer
