3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A classic dark ale. Excellent texture, almost creamy, solid appearance and sweet aroma. Refreshing subtle sweet malty taste, although lingering aftertaste. A comfortable bitterness without any hoppy taste. Not complex, but full bodied and flavorful. Infinitely better on draft than bottled. Clear bottles means high risk for being skunked/lightstruck.

Newcastle is my favorite average brown ale that you can get anywhere. It is nice and standard.

Love the taste and aroma of this beer. The dark red/amber coloring of the beer goes pretty well with the bottle design and colors making it very classy. The feel of the beer is amazing, very smooth and refreshing, no bad after taste. Its coffee like taste is great and carbonation very refreshing

Been a long time since I had Newkie brown. Seems ’less’ than it was 20 years ago. Clear brown with a nice head. Rich malt nose. Clean crisp but malt profile not quite as rich as nose. Still something many should enjoy.

bottle@tryk bar, Copenhagen - dark brown pour with a medium off-white head. Slightly toasted malts, caramel, syrup, slightly nutty. (Dunk on many previous occasions in the distant past but realised I need to rate it and now not as ok as I remember from many years ago)
