bbp182 (245), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 3, 2008 Had it on tap at Darby O Gills in Levittown PA. A great darker amber color. Nice off white head. Malty smell, also hints of figs. Smells great. Great malty taste, with a great bitterness. I like this brown ale a lot!
SQNfan (369), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Jul 7, 2008 Bottle: A nice balance of nuttiness and malt in the nose and palate. Well-balanced with a rich and creamy mid-palate. This has always been an enjoyable one for me. emarkd (24), Georgia, USA Jul 5, 2008 A few days ago, I had my first bottle of this beer in many years, but I drank a lot of it at one point in my college days, so expect my review to be tainted with a touch of nostalgia.
Nice brown ale with a small off-white head. Aroma is lightly malty. Flavor is malty and nutty with a touch of caramel sweetness. Easy to drink and enjoy with some friends and much better than most mass-produced beers. Overall, a pretty simple beer and honestly quite watery, but its still pretty good to me. KiwiInTheUK (6), London, Greater London, England does not count Jul 5, 2008 I’m in UK and really got into ales here, always like to try something new, just tried my first bottle of this one, warm evening while I tended my BBQ... Not anything particularly intense flavourwise but very drinkable and tasty none the less, someone here said tastes like a good homebrew, a good way to sum it up. BlockBrew (48), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Jul 5, 2008 Brown color with off white head. Sweet malts with slight hop flavor on the way down. FreakyBunny (1), Winchester, Ontario, Canada does not count Jul 2, 2008 My fave, hands down. Tastes like home made...and that’s a good thing.
