Newcastle Cabbie is brewed with dark malts and noble aroma hops to create a flavour with hints of chocolate, coffee and light fruit.

12oz bottle. Some black licorice in the aroma. Light to medium bodied, pretty straight up. Filtered amber-brown body. Not unlike a true English Mild in some respects, but cheap and neutered. Brown chocolate, doughy malt notes. Something about it is just too thin, lifeless. Odd fruity ale tones too. A weird beer for sure. Let it sit out for 20 minutes...gets better as it breathes.

Dark brown. Resilient khaki head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, and bread. Taste is moderately malty sweet and a little chemical. Mediumish bodied.

The aroma is caramel, coffee, chocolate, and grain husks. The appearance is light brown with a thin head. The taste is like the aroma and watery. The palate is thin. Overall its drinkable but not that great.

A nice beer with an emphasis on malts, can taste the mats of the grains and husk of the cracked malts. Not much on the bitterness. A nice brown color. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A dark brown pour but a very light beer. Kind of a strange flavor. Roasted malts without too much roasted flavor. Caramel, pale malts, and some spices possibly.

Bottle. Dark, with tan head. Smells, tastes like caramel. Would definitely get this again.

First, this by no means is a black ale. It’s brown… dark brown, really, with a hint of dark red. Its nose is dark and sweet with a touch of smoky wood. The palate is dark, but dull and thinly malty. That’s it. Nothing more.

The appearance has a dark somewhat brown close to black colored body with a slight transparency to it. There is a nice mushroom capping one finger white foamy head that concaves to a lumpy looking valley inside the glass. Lacing is extremely thick and sticking to the sides of the glass The smell is nutty, malty, woody, and bready all combined and leading into a dried roastiness. The taste is malty sweet with a light woody nuttiness trying to come in. There is a roasty woody aftertaste with a dry sweet finish. On the palate, it sits light on the body and comes across pretty sessionable. Carbonation is very smooth, hmmmm...I actually haven’t had too many English Dark Milds in my life, so I like the fact how it runs as smooth as it does and doesn’t leave much harshness. Overall, hmmmm...not a bad beer, sounds like one I could definitely do with some fish n’ chips.

Smell is sterile and fresh. From a bottle pour is a good looking dark beer. Friendly attitude without being too far over the top. Not really as mild as i would think a mild ale should be but it certainly has it finer points during the session. Goes down fairly easy. Has personality. Borders on crafty beer but still has some of that BMC proprietress in there. Yes refined enough to be smoother but tries to be more than that. Good co2 all around. Evolves into a pretty good overall beer experience.

bottle. Black with small head. Charred malt with a bit of smoke. Mild flavor. Not a style that does anything for me at all.
