1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
This beer poured nice and the coloring was okay to look at. With that said I was expecting more from Newcastle. The taste was weak and slightly metallic. Definitely not one of the beers Iíll be picking up again.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours copper. Smells of bready sweet malts and aluminum. Taste is metallic, doughy malts, sweet (brown sugar maybe?). Palate is thin but refreshing. Just ok...

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle poured a clear amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, toasted malt and earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, earthiness and light citrus with a crisp dry lingering carmel finish.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz bottle. Pours copper with whitish head. The aroma is slight earthy hops with some toast and nougat, some musty and bloody hints. The flavor mild spritzy bitterness with a chalky quality and a strange crackery malt. Saline finish, clean bitterness in aftertaste. Meh.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Immediate thought on this is disappointing. Thereís very little here. A bit of sweet malt and a lot of strainy water flavors. Boring.

2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Interesting style beer that had a bit of a pale ale taste to it but the origional sweetness and crispness of a brown ale.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
MacArthur WIne and Beverages, DC sixer ($7.50): Pours a copper color with a white head. Aroma is mostly malty with a pinch of hops. Beer is on the sweet side. It is very mellow and very chuggable. Not really bitter at all. This is an uneventful session ale, yet an eventful session ale that is done right.

Bottle. Amber with a medium, frothy tan head. Soft toasted malt, hints of caramel, light tea notes, and soft hops. Taste is bready and malty with caramel, tea leaves, floral hops and soft earthiness. Body is light-medium with a soft, creamy carbonation. Ends with more bread and toasted malt, grains, caramel, floral hops, and light spicy hops.
