A full-bodied pale ale, it’s sweet rather than bitter, with some caramel and fruit notes.

Bottle from B&M Home Bargains; clear medium brown pour with off white head, malt aroma, burnt caramel malt taste with mild hoppiness. OK for 59p

2013 bottle to a pint glass. Pours a clear copper color with a foamy white head. Aroma is a faintly sweet and bready. Taste is watery with a little sweet malt and even less of a bitterness at the end. Medium mouthfeel. Mostly bland and inoffensive. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Light malty and soapy hops aroma. Clear copper with a small white head. Slightly sweet fruity / bready malt and light grassy / soapy hops flavor. Light body, soft carbonation.

355ml Bottle: best before 30 Apr 2013, opened on 12 Apr 2013 and poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard. Looked good, light amber going onto copper in body colour, on top a full head of white crowned it off nicely. I thought this had a malt bias throughout: something I like. The nose had a mild caramel hint within the aroma and that followed along within the mouth flavours. Hops are around giving the beer a balanced feel but this is a semi-sweet brew which fits my taste profile very nicely.

Musty, sweet aroma, brown sugar. The appearance is red/gold, off-white head. The flavor is apple, fruit, cardboard. Weird. The finish is Engligh hops, sour. Ok, not great. Strange, to be honest.

Clear copper, malt with some hops. Light body with a fair hop presence attempt. A little watery. Taste is there but really a shadow of what i would want/expect. Nonetheless, maybe a really drinkable macrobrew representation of an esb isn’t bad. This is really drinkable and not bad tasting at all except a little metallic.

330 ml bottle The ale poured clear amber with a white head with some lacing. The label said this was a pale ale. The ale was thin and needed more body. There was bready taste to the ale and clearly not a pale ale in US standards. The aroma was of caramel and toasted malts. The caramel malts dominate the hops. A very drinkale ale with lively carbonation. The finish had a light citrus with dry lingering caramel malt finish.

330ml bottle. Clear copper colour with a decent head that disappears quite quickly. Aroma is full of malt. Plenty of malt flavour with some citrus peel and a little spice, though overall not too heavy. Moderate bitterness with a fairly brief finish. Light to moderate carbonation. Good, though not exceptional.

There is nothing more refreshing than a nice cold one after a long day at the office. Founders Ale is very refreshing, not too bitter just right love this beer. I clean out the shelve every time I go to the store.

Pours a clear copper with an off white creamy head that fades quickly. A distinctly dried apricot bouquet that acts as a spoiler for what will, ultimately, stimulate the palate. Lovely tangerine and dried apricot that drops abruptly to expose a mild tartness at the beer’s finish. Extremely drinkable beer.
