2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Mediium brown with a reddish hue. Notes of phenol, musty rubber, and sweet malt on the nose. Yeasty sourdough and corn cereal taste. Light to medium body. Aftertaste is most unpleasant. Iíd say it was thrown out of Britain.

Pours brown with an amber glow and a finger of off-white head. Aroma is mostly chocolate malts. Flavor is initially more of the chocolate malts but gives way to an intense metallic flavor that dominates the palate.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Earthy aroma and dark red in appearance. Starts with subtle berry notes ends with a bit of an earthy bite from the rye malt but not overpowering, different but good.

Dare I say it, but this tastes just like a Newcastle Nut Brown Ale except a little more red in color with just a tiny bit of caramel sweetness. Even though they express that the Rye Malt is a major contributor to this beer it really doesnít shine through much in the flavor. I think they used it more to influence the color and that any changes in flavor were merely coincidental. Aroma is nutty and dusty, a tiny hint at sweet rye. Either way this is a dry and very drinkable brown ale that is tinged a bit red.

Werewolves are shape changers and it must be how this beer got its name. Sweet on the first taste the hops comes flying through on the finish. But the Tate is fleeting and seems to lack any substance or body. I was looking forward to another "home run" as The brown ale is one of my all time favorites an I really like the summer ale. But this was not up to the same level.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a crystal clear medim brown with a tall, soapy kakhi head. Aroma is nutty malt, toffee, odd fruity notes, like someone threw raspberries and strawberries in there even a little acidity in the nose. Flavor is again nutty, some toffee, and weird berry notes, they really must have put some actual fruit in this. Finishes with planty hops, mineral, spicy notes and lingering berry. Palate is light and dry, though a little oily as well, with a light, sharp carbonation. Strange beer overall, the berry notes, while not really unpleasant, donít fit the beer very well.
