3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a clear dark amber - very toasty aroma, with a bit of earthy, leafy, almost mushroomy quality - flavor is much more dull and one-dimensional than the aroma - some toasty malt and a dry, fairly strong "Burton bite" of minerals on the tail end - some lingering toasty rye - not great, but for a bottled, pasteurized ESB from what is essentially a "macro brewer," it isnít too bad.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
I donít think this beer is nearly as bad as its ratings. Watery and mild, but with a nice malty, roasted character that I found nicely suited.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours bronze. Low amount of head. Malt, rye, caramel and a little unpleasant aroma. Not skunked, but something close. Sweet. Some bitterness. Quite thin, but ends quite textured. Not a beer for me.

Clean dark amber color, big white head. Aroma of malt, burnt caramel, grain, some spice and cocoa notes. Taste is mostly dry with light sweetness and bitterness too, dry finish. Light body and average carbonation. Better than I expected, has some interesting notes but some unpleasant notes too.
