2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This is a decent beer, though it might just be too bitter for most people. I enjoyed it, but I think I prefer Newcastle Brown Ale still.

Type: 12-oz. bottle
Glass: Stone Ruination IPA pint glass
From: Albertsons in Alpine, Calif.
Price: $1.67 ($9.99 for a mix 6-pack)
Purchased: Jan. 2, 2015
Consumed: Jan. 3, 2015
Poured an auburn, clear color with 1-to-2 fingers of off-white head. A few bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Minimal lacing on the sides. Minimal retention on the top all the way down. (Sight - 3.13)
Definitely a Newcastle beer with the first whiff. Rye malts, toffee, caramel, nuts, roasty, butter malts, hazelnut, light espresso, vanilla and mixed berries. (Smell - 2.63)
Tasted a tad better than the nose. More berries than the nose. Buttery toffee, slightly boozy, hazelnut, caramel, nutty roasty malts and faint vanilla. (Taste - 2.88)
Medium body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, rather bitter finish. (Feel - 2.63)
Not a good Irish Red Ale, especially after having Alpine’s McIlhenney’s Irish Red the other night. Would not have it again. (Overall - 2.75)

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Its sweeter, maltier, hoppier and fizzier than Newcastle Brown which is my quaffable go to. I appreciate the effort. Mix half w/ Arrogant Bastard for a Bastard Werewolf!!! The hops cut the sweet. Its not bad w/ Bar b que! Cmon brothers lighten up and relish the amazing brew world we live in tday! Now if light beers were just made illegal...

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Well, t’aint "blood red" as the label states, but it’s a deep amber in body. The "head" is an off-white film. The aroma is toffee and caramel and light brown sugar. The taste is sweetness, toffee and caramel. Unremitting. Too much for me to session at any time. With a name like "Werewolf," it should do more than gnaw away at my canines.
I wrote the above before seeing that this is classified at an ESB on the site. I’m flabbergasted.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A lot of plum/raisin and dark chocolate in the aroma, with sweetness that makes it candy-like. Similar flavor, with bitterness that balances the sweetness. Subtle pepper. Kind of a maraschino cherry-like finish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
16 Oz tap. Pours clear brown with a white head. Make aromas dominate: caramel and brown sugar. Medium sweetness with cereal grain, nut, and some prune. Finishes with long, herby hop linger. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel and average carbonation. Overall, good malt, but pretty unidimensional.
