Pours an ominously dark color for an IPA. Almost brown, maybe burnt orange, with an off-white head. Candy-like sweetness on the nose. Lots of sugar and toffee. No real hop presence at all. Maybe a light spiciness? The flavor is of water and toffee, maybe a bit of caramel. Again, almost no hop presence to be found, not even any bitterness. Not good at all.

12 oz. bottle. Earthy hop aroma. Taste has an incredibly offputting liquid tobacco taste that finishes with a slight hop character. This stuff is awful. One of the worst beers I have ever had.

I agree with most of these other posts that this beer is terrible... Its a product of the macro-breweries trying to compete with microbreweries and I would hardly call this an IPA.... Minimal hop character or bitterness, very bland flavor... Stick to the brown...

I bought a single bottle of this as part of a M&M 6-pack from Binny’s in Downer’s Grove, IL for $9.99 in Early 2012. Pours a medium amber color with a slight head. Scent has some bitterness to it, but it smells more like an adjunct lager. Wow, this one you have to try and not in a good way. The texture is light and dry but finishes with a harsh bitter after taste. Overall the taste is barely better than a cheaply made malt liquor. It’s not going to be easy finishing this off. Definitely avoid.

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2012 Location: Draft at Texas Arizona, 2/10/12

Aroma: The nose is really dull, light notes of yeast, corn, and a little fruit
Appearance: This one pours a clear orange color with pretty much no head or lace
Flavor: The flavor is mild as well, lightly corny, minimal citrus presence, and pretty much no hop presence
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a dull, mediocre mouthfeel, and comes off a bit on the watery side
Overall Impression: I was fairly disappointed with this one. This one dreams of being a mediocre IPA. Honestly, this has to be one of the worst attempts at this style I’ve ever tried. There really isn’t anything IPA like about it.

Bottle. Pure amber and serene, with lazy, slow carbonation rising to just a little haze of a head. Not much up-front aroma here, and indeed the beer drinks with a very mellow malty character. Certainly any American expecting something along the lines of an American IPA will be sorely disappointed. To our palate, this drinks like a mild ale, caramelled and nutty. (#4471, 2/7/2012)

very average at best. More of an English pale ale than an IPA. Hops flavor is missing. But it is smooth and goes down with out a hitch. If you like IPA’s...skip this one.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (grain/cereal, husks), lightly hoppy (apricot), lightly yeasty (dough), with notes of cardboard, walnut shells, gasoline, diacetyl, dirt. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Truly bad. Not just bland, but bad. Rough malt with surprisingly high oxidation/staleness despite this just coming out this winter. Fusel alcohol, rancid butter and dirt round out the nose...yum! Dirty aftertaste, thin and watery, off sourness, virtually no hops...it really does have everything you could possibly want in an IPA. To purchase by the case only.
