2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a clear dull brown with wispy white head. Smell is sweet grains, but almost a spoil hint. Taste is more sweet grain, caramel, almost no hop presence. IPA? Really? Not good.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours clear copper with a slight beige head that left quickly. Aroma is floral/herb with a caramel backing. Suggests cola sort of. Med body. Flavor is odd. There’s a veg/herb hop thing. Malt backing. Suggests an insecticide aroma - the kind made from flowers*. It’s not terrible, but I’ve never had anything like it. Unique flavors fer sure.

bought a single from HeB, i told them i’d finally get this bottle after refusing to break the sixer, i always win .. . . this beer smells like an old stinkin copper pipe .. . stale vegetables and brown underwear stain flavours, copper also .. . no body at all .. . light tan .. almost no foam at all .. . crumby beer .. . .
I’m sorry but there’s a handsome man in my spoon. You’ll have to come back later.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Dark brown color. Smells of malt, bread and dough. Far from an IPA in my opinion but i guess this is the british version of it. Eh

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I did not know how to rate this beer. It said, "IPA", but it did not have a typical IPA taste or aroma. Had an mild aroma of nuts, malts and slight sweetness. Had a taste of citrus and hops like a typical IPA, but not with the same strength. In all honesty, it reminded me of a mild porter or stout more than an IPA. With that being said, I personally enjoyed this beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
These Newcastle seasonal have been...challenging. Some have been outright terrible, and the best ones have been bland. This benefited from lowered expectations is what I’m trying to say. There is some actual hop character, and it doesn’t seem stale or oxidized much. Still not sure I’d buy it again, though...

Another Newcastle limited edition, another sign they should just stick to the original brown.
