UPDATED: JAN 26, 2012 Pours a medium copper with a white short lived head. Aroma is dominated by soapy hops with a slight malt note with a funky fruitiness. Flavor is somewhat complex with a hoppiness up front giving way to a malty finish. Not "brilliant" but ok.

Poured into my new castle glass on my new castle bar mat. I really wondered what the Brits idea of an IPA would be, and now I see it’s not quite my idea. Aroma is malty, and earthy hops. Flavor was better, I taste spicy hops. Palate is thick and finishes watery. Overall not my idea of ipa, and by the ratings people agree, but it is drinkable as a amber. I used one to marinade some steaks, hopefully that proves good use for this beer.

Bottle poured a clear amber with a small lingering ivory head. Aromas of biscuit, grape, earthiness, light grassiness and a hint of citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of biscuit, light earthiness, light grape and light grasssiness with a crisp lightly bitter finish.

12 oz bottle from Country Club Liquors. Nose is vegetal and floral with a hint of toffee. Clear light amber with a small beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter with some caramel and a slight peppery spices. Tastes much better than it smells.

Sorry Newcastle! I expected more from you guys. Poured a dark amber, clear with nice carbonation. head laced to the side. Aroma was kind of a strange european aroma, not one that was noticeable, definately not hoppy. Taste was again kind of strange, probably from the Super Styrian and Styrian Goldings hops I had to research to identify. Mouthfeel was good, aftertaste as unexceptional. Nice try but it’s not worth buying another bottle.

Wow, this beer actually tastes almost exactly like this homemade beer that my dad made with a whole can of brewer’s yeast covered with cheesecloth. So...not so good. It has a sour apple flavor right at the front. And that sourness continues throughout. Not real strong but tingly and untasty. Very little hops. Boo.

A total drain pour, the absolute worst beer I have had in a long time.PG Tips tea has more flavour.I will leave the other 4 bottles in the fridge to pawn off on false friends.Newcastle brewed a second run and this small beer fails big time.Avoid at all costs.

Every single thing in this beer clashed, it was horrid. I took one drink, almost sprayed it out of my mouth, gave it to my boyfriend, he took one drink, walked to the kitchen and poured it out. The we laughed. It was terrible. Never buy.

Really nothing special. I wouldn’t really classify this as an IPA. The ’skunkiness’ confuses the ’hopiness’. This brew is completely see-through and so is the taste. I’m not sure I’ll buy this again. I’d rather drink a Stella over this. A little disappointing given it comes from Newcastle.

Weird and sour smelling. Decent amount of head. Refreshing though. Not worth revisiting. Bizarre light taste. I am not finding this very IPA-like. Not as hoppy as I expected. Depressing. Just like winter.
