COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottled.
A fine example of a well balanced strong ale. Reddish-brown in colour with a moderate head, ’Last Lion of Britain’ has a very special aroma of red fruit and caramel with subtle earthy hops. The flavour is characterised with sweet malt and fruit ending with a smooth and dry finish. A rewarding drink for ale enthusiasts!

10 cl. sample from bottle. Clear, golden amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma is malts and fruits. Medium to full palate with medium carbonation. Sweet and malty taste with grainy alcohol notes. Finish is bittersweet and malty. Decent beer, however a bit sweet for my tastebuds.

Bottle. Clear brown pour, almost no head. Aroma of spicy sugary malts, slightly aged. Flavor is quite sweet spicy malts and a bit of brandy. Quite heavy and almost a bit boozy although it’s only 5%. Not really my kind of brew.

Bottled at Københavnske Øldage 2011. Clear nut brown, small head. Coffeish nose. Sweet and medium bodied with clean mouthfeel . Some dough syrup and earthiness. Low bitterness, Feels uninspired on bottle.

Bottle. A dark amber to light brown beer topped by a small, off-white to light beige head. Roasted caramel aroma and flavor, in many ways similar to the Wolvers Ale, except it’s much more pronounced. More body too, but not really full-bodied. Some hoppy bitterness bringing balance in the accounts towards the end. Well, not my preferred beer, but it drinks easy and is luckily quite dry so there’s some quenching qualities. 110612

Bottled@CPH BF 2011. Amber colour, not much head. Smoothly hopped brew with some mild maltyness as well. Flavour is malty along with a pleasant floral hoppyness to it.

Sample from bottle at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Deep golden colour. Very moderate aroma, maybe a hint of red fruits and caramel, but not as much as promised. The flavour has moderate notes of toffee and caramel, just a hint of hops. Drinkable, but the lion did not roar.
