sm89walt (167), Norwich and Canterbury, Norfolk, England Jan 21, 2008 Cask - Wetherspoons, Canterbury. A darkish copper coloured bitter with a fairly thick and creamy off-white head. The aromas are of floral hops with some fruity, almost berry-like notes intertwined. These berry notes come out further on the tongue, although in a dried fruit manner. Not a typical bitter in terms of flavours as the sweetness dominates and the finish is rather short and dry also. Makes a good session ’bitter’ as it slides down the throat nicely.

Advertised at part of the Real Ale festival, but not apparently on the official list. Orange-red with a small white head. Warm, sweet malt aroma putting me in mind of raspberry wine gums. Sweet fruity taste with just a little sourness. Restrained beer, but not a lot wrong with it. Mes_and_Sim (3903), London, Greater London, England Feb 25, 2008 A Mes rate: Gravicask at the Bricklayers. Murky brown with a reasonable white head. Caramel malt with some light oaty notes. Little harsh on the malt, very nutty. A little on the crap side. Finn (1030), Tromsø, Norway Feb 17, 2008 Cask at The Crosse Keys (JDW) London EC3 5 Feb 08. Amber / black colored. Layer-head. Aroma of prunes. Some flavor of plums but otherwise forgettable. SilkTork (3780), Rochester, Kent, England Feb 16, 2008 JDW, Rochester.
