COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The '02 represents the third edition of our limited release beer. As in the past, this beer has been brewed with a completely new recipe and follows no particular style guidelines. Again, the 20 barrels of limited production '02 was aged for almost a year before it was released. This year's version is made with a single malt, Marris Otter, which our brewers believe to be the best in the world. In addtion, a variety of hops were added to achieve the 100 IBUs (International Bitterness Units) which creates a distinctive yet surprisingly smooth bite. As always, this product will improve with time, so find a few and enjoy them for years to come. It is extremely limited, extremely strong, and extremely original, because as we like to say around here: "It's All About Extremes."

(22oz bottle) A very cool periwinkly bottle. Very fresh leaf nose. Elastic and hoppy. Smooth texture with a creamy flavour amongst vanilla, hops and whiskey malt tones. Nice balance. Very good! Thank you MartinT!

Thanks ClarkVV. Garnet red color with a nice fluffy tan head. Nice aroma of fruit and candi sugar. Fruity. Raisins, prunes, figs, and plums. Well balanced. Full bodied. Rich tasting. Smooth. Big flavor. Enjoyable. Great.

Big thanks out to ClarkVV for this bottle. Perfect clear, Ruby Red color with a nice rich thick tan head. Sherried candy and fruit aroma, with raisns, plums, cherries, figs, prune, all melded together. Flavor is big and smooth, with huge sherried malts and tons of dried fruit. This is one delicious brew that is probably extremely hard to find by now. Would be a prize for any cellar. YUM!

This is so mellow and aged so nice. When fresh, it was a bit different. Sweet, woody nose, hints of aged hops. Orange ruby brown body. Small clingy off-white head. Chewy caramel, toffee, dates, medium body, with a pleasant, subdued hop bitterness through the finish. Citric sticky resinous with great finesse. Very nicely balanced. Alcohol is hidden rather well. A pleasant surprise from the small state.

Sampled at the 2005 EBF: Pours a hazy ruby copper with very little head. Aroma is a light blend of candy-like strawberries and toffee-like caramel malt. Rich, butterscotch malty sweet body has a nice aged complexity and light fruit flavor. Nicely balanced and hides its alcohol very well. A well-aged barleywine.

Bottle sampled at the Extreme Beer Fest. Bright brown with tan head. Very malty, mellow and smooth from the aging, hops are low in the mix. Refined caramel flavor. Solid yet mellow barleywine.

West coast hop nose with cookie-dough-like yeast in the aroma. Ruby-copper-coloured with off-white/tan head that recedes to cover. Some dark malt roastiness and plenty of caramel malt sweetness combine well with orangey hop flavour and fair bitterness. Bottle enjoyed with DYCSoccer17, MartinT, muzzlehatch, Omhper and Rastacouere.

Bottled. Dark amber. Grapefruity cookie malt aroma. Rich and warming with soft mouthfeel. The vast hoppiness is hidden and balanced by the richness of the malt. Salty, very bitter finish.
