Bottle from alldaydrinker (first trade); Dark brown with a few scattered bubbles; Nose was yeasty and bready, with caramel and dates; flavor of raisins, caramel, and a bit of alcohol.

First Off, I really enjoyed this brew. It has been aged now 5 years, 1 year in the brewery and 4 outside. Poured a nice dark caramel brown colour. The aroma was fascinating with smells of plum, chocolate, and figs. Pours almost no head.The taste, alcohol is there, with a nice caramel, slightly dark fruity, the aftertaste, back of the palate was pure chocolate. A very interesting and enjoyable brew.

Aged 5 years. Pours a solid clay-colour with absolutely no head, even when aggrevated. Smells of malted-milk balls and heavy malt with some ethanol piercing through. There is definitely fruity notes on the nose, too. The taste is rich in chocolate, licorice, dark pitted fruits. Hardly any alcohol in the taste. The mouthfeel is slick and silky. It really sticks to the back of the mouth, though the residence time of the flavour isn’t as long as the 02’. So smooth. Almost no carbonation. Kudos to Npt Storm.

When you pour it there is not much of a head to it. but there is a very dark appearance to it. there is a hint of malted milk balls and chocolate and then a taste of cherry right after it slides down your throat. this is a very complex beer and has a variety of flavors that hit your palate at different times and makes it enjoyable it is depressing that they do not make this anymore

750ml bottle: I thought that after 3 years I would finally give this one a shot. The beer pours a very dark mahogany color. There was no head to it whatsoever. I’m not sure if that is a result of the age or it was like this to start. This has a pretty potent aroma. Definitely some chocolate, mixed with toffee and dark fruits. It has a silkiness to it when it hits your mouth. A touch lighter than I would have expected in body, but rich nonetheless. It is quite a complex taste, the components marrying well after all these years. The toffee, chocolate and fruit are in there, but it has become something more. Very Nice. I wish I had a few more!

Bottle courtesy of risurfer now known as desurfer. Thanks Todd! Dark brown, nearly mahogany colored pour. Pretty, oily legs slide around the edge of the glass. Nose is very malty and sweet with strong caramel, light toffee, cocoa, and dark fruits. Taste is equally sweet and malty. More cocoa, light alcohol, hints of chocolate cake and light fruit notes. Body is light but chewy. Very sticky feel and no carbonation. Finishes with dark fruits, light earthy notes, some cardboard, unfortunately, caramel, cocoa, and creamy malts. Nice!

Ruddy brown pour with a medium off white head. Roasted malt, chocolatey aroma - when swirled I get some type of pungent aroma. Sour, pungent start, middle-finish is nice with roasted malt, chocolate malt, sweetness. Pungent start is hard to get by - no alcohol evident.

An unclear brown beer with a dying orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of wood, caramel, and bourbon. The flavor is of bourbon, wood, and mollasses, and the body is thick. Not Your typical Doppelbock, more like a Barley Wine.
