COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The fifth iteration of our annual limited beer series, ‘04, features a new look and some more premium ingredients. First, ‘04 is the lightest in color of the limited beers that we have created. However, to assume that it is less intense than our previous versions would be a mistake. In order to balance out the ample European Pils malt in this pale colored lager we have used the four Noble hops (Hallertau, Tettenanger, Spalt, and Saaz). For centuries these hops have been singled out in the brewing industry for their superior qualities and, in ‘04, provide an exceptionally complex bitterness and aroma. It is this special combination that creates, yet, another unique brew. It is extremely limited, extremely strong, and extremely original, because as we like to say around here: “It’s All About Extremes!” 14.0% Alcohol by Volume.

RBSG 2007 Grand Tasting. Murky golden brown with no head. Sweet, sugary nose, fruity and malty. Fruit and light brown sugar flavors. Thick body. Nice.

poured foggy amber in color with minimal head, little carbination in the glass. smell is dark fruit, alcohol, and malts. taste is sweet, thick on the tongue like a barley wine, and strong alcohol. cool bottles though.

Another nice treat from hellomynameis who brought in a vertical of Newport Storm 03 through 06 to the RBSG ’07 Grand Tasting. This one was finally cracked open just after midnight. The 2004 Vintage pours a dark orange amber brew with a soft fast dissolving light tan head. Aroma of sweet fruit, molasses, a touch of vanilla and sweet apples. Taste is sweet and fruity, with flavors of molasses, caramel, and raisins. Texture is thick and chewy (full bodied) with a light toasted malt aftertaste. This one has a little more hop flavor than the 2003 Vintage. More high alcohol after burn going down created a very warm sensation.

Amber brown color that is very still looking. Caramel sweetness in the aroma. Molasses, caramel, alcohol, fruit all round out the flavour. Full and interestingly complex.

Sugar and fruit aroma. Also like a barleywine, just like the 03. This one has aged very well. It is thick and vinous, like a port, but with very minimal grape or wine character. Alcohol burn, which makes it seem ever more like liquor. Flavor is quite sweet, and minimal hops. I’m going against the grain on this one.

RBSG 2007. Pours to a lightly hazed caramel body with no head. The aroma is musty yellow apple skins and apple flesh with onion hops and other saison-like characteristics. The flavor is really caramelly with some yellow apple skins and sweet malts. Lots of apples in this one. The palate is sweet and sticky and full bodied. Caramelized. A great high ABV "saison".

RBSG 2007 Grand Tasting. Cloudy orange body with a small white head. Sweet malty caramel aroma. Sweet caramel and molassas flavor.

RBSG 2007. Hellomynameis continues on with the vertical. Hazy orange color with a little head. Simple, sweet malt aroma and taste. Lots of unexpected fruit flavor, mainly apples and figs. Quite nice.
