COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For the sixth year we have faithfully produced the next edition in our impressive series of annual limited beers. Copious amounts of Pale, Chocolate, and Munich malts gives the mouthfeel to this brew. Additionally, twenty pounds of East African Cocoa combines with subtle raspberry flavors to accentuate the beer's creative backbone. Though not laden with hop bitterness, we chose the Perle hop's mild spice and sweetness to complement the chocolate in this ale. Unusual care and a year of aging, as well as hand corking and a never to be used again recipe give this beer a signature flavor which should only improve with time. It is extremely limited, extremely strong, and extremely original, because as we like to say around here "It's All About Extremes!" 11.7% Alcohol by Volume.

Bottle courtesy of Steve (hopdog). Thanks! Pours muddy orangish-brown with just a slight hint of head. Very sweet aroma of brown sugar and rum. Thin mouthfeel. Taste of raisin and brown sugar. No bitterness.

Bottle at a tasting. Sweetly vegetal aroma, a bit of broccoli. Warm, mushy sweetness, coats the lips, with a cold, fishy flavor. Fish and broccoli in my beer? What more could I ask for!

Bottle, thanks to jjpm. Darker brown, muddy, and with a light red tinge. Aroma is hard alcohol, and really sweet malt. The flavor is also extremely sweet malt; I basically puckered from tasting it.

Boutip (3294) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 2, 2008
Bottle courtesy of jjpm74: Poured a deep dirty brown color ale with a tiny head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma of deep caramel and toffee malt with some raspberry notes also noticeable. Taste is dominated by some sweet malt with some hint of raspberry and blackberry. Body is full and carbonation is very low but no alcohol was noticeable. Very well done and I observe some resemblance with Kuhnhenn Raspberry eisbock even though they are two very different beers.

Pours dark red to brown with a dark khaki head.
Sweet fruit aromas like cherries and berries. Good amount of oxidation. Toffee.
Very fruity with a dry sweetnes (what ever the hell that means).A smidge of chocalte malt and a bunch of oxidation flavors.
Med/full body. Med carbonation. Semi sweet finish.
If you have this beer in your cellar, its time to drink it.

Bottle provided by ClarkVV and shared with Tom and Brian: Mahogany hued with a small fading head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of heavy biscuit and caramel malts, oxidation, leather. tobacco, marzipan, anise, plum, and an overall earthy nose.

The taste starts with a rich roasted malt and chocolate component balanced by a fruity twang and warming alcohol. Light spice and liquorice upon the finish, a bit vinous. The mouth feel is lush, oily, and warming upon the chest.

Man I really dig this and it is ready to be drank now. No need for anymore cellaring.

Alldaydrinker (559) - Norwood, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 27, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 28, 2007 Pours a dark amber colour with a small offwhite head . Aroma of dark fruits, molasses with hints of the 11.7 abv. Initial taste begins with a dark fruit with a slight sour overlay. Finishing with coffee and chocolate that warms the palate and makes the finish very entertaining. Good head retention and some of lacing of the glass. Very easy to drink, with thinner body than expected. Overall a true pleasure.
