COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For the sixth year we have faithfully produced the next edition in our impressive series of annual limited beers. Copious amounts of Pale, Chocolate, and Munich malts gives the mouthfeel to this brew. Additionally, twenty pounds of East African Cocoa combines with subtle raspberry flavors to accentuate the beer's creative backbone. Though not laden with hop bitterness, we chose the Perle hop's mild spice and sweetness to complement the chocolate in this ale. Unusual care and a year of aging, as well as hand corking and a never to be used again recipe give this beer a signature flavor which should only improve with time. It is extremely limited, extremely strong, and extremely original, because as we like to say around here "It's All About Extremes!" 11.7% Alcohol by Volume.

This beer pours a nice cloudy dark brown color, there is not much of a head to it though. It has a sweet aroma of fruit and coffee. as you drink it there is a bitter sweet flavor of mild fruits and coffee. The after taste is mild rasberry and toffee.

Bottle. Very dark brown pour with a nice tan lace of a head. Incredibly sweet aroma. Smell of fruit and chocolate. Very sweet tasting that hides the alcohol well. A job well done by Coastal Extreme.

Thanks to Blake for sharing. reddish brown pour w/ a small thin kahki colored head, decent lacing & visible particulate. Big raspberry aroma hot alcohols and light coccoa. Palate is well coated and lightly creamy. Flavor is ltos of raspberry & coccoa, light carmels. Like a nice raspberry porter. Odd but good.

Thanks boboski for this gift! The aroma is rich with raspberries, blackberries, currants, and cocoa powder. The beer pours to a deep red body with a cream khaki colored head. The flavor is chocolate raspberry truffles and chocolate volcano cake. The flavor is unique and pretty complex. The palate is sweet, sticky, and medium bodied.

Thanks to Blake curtesy of boboski! Poured a deep, rather clear chocolatey copper with a short initial cap of off-white head.. light ring too. Aroma picked up a hefty does of chocolate and caramel maltage with buckets of raspberries and some substantial warming alcohols. Flavor was heavy on the molasses, brown sugar, and alcohol sugars.. blackberry and black currant accented by heavy alcohol, especially on the latter half.. some grainy sugars, and more of the raspberry throught the finish. Heavy on the palate, but slick at some times on the palate.. warm sugars and molasses and brown sugar were enjoyable on the warm finish. Very good stuff!

Deep and murky mahogany body with almost no head other than some bubbles around the edges. Malts meet the nose first: Rich and robust. Chocolate. Caramel sweetness. Berries. Hints of hops. Nice complexity. Full bodied and syrupy. Moderately sweet taste, warm alcohol feel in the swallow. Another that would do well put aside to age.

RBSG 2007 Grand Tasting. Hazy brown with no head. Much like the ’04, fruity and brown sugary, but this one adds just less alcohol burn. Good stuff.

Another nice treat from hellomynameis who brought in a vertical of Newport Storm 03 through 06 to the RBSG ’07 Grand Tasting. This one was finally cracked open after midnight (I lost track of time after midnight). The 2005 Vintage pours a near opaque dark brown brew with a fast dissolving light tan head. Aroma of light chocolate, yeast, peaches, a touch of brown sugar and raspberries. Taste is sweet and fruity, with flavors of chocolate, caramel, and some herbal berries. Texture is full bodied with a light toasted chocoalte malt aftertaste, then much bitterness. Another high alcohol created a very warm sensation.
