COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As is done every year, the recipe for this strong ale is quite different. The theme for this year’s brew was spice. This dark amber ale was built with the "raisiny" characteristics of Belgian Special B malt and filled in with crystal and pale malts. To balance this year’s 12% abv ale we used cinnamon, nutmeg, and blackstrap molasses as well as a variety of hops. The result is a sweet and spicy beer reminiscent of many of the treats coming from the local bakery.

29-MAR-2011, bottle @Papsø tasting. Dark brown with low beige head. Nose hits me - I am surprised. What is this? Brutal bitter hops and at the same time sweet fruity malts. Nor carbonation but sweet sweet fruity taste. Lots of "dark" fruits. Love this. My type. Port-like and strong. One of the best tonight.

Courtesy of kiefdog. Pours clear mahogany with thin copper edges and really no head at all. The aroma is sherry sweet sludgy malts, some prunes and plums. The taste is smooth and sweet with chewy hops, molasses, some prunes, dates, plums and a slender layer of sherry soy goodness. This is smooth sweet and d-lish.
