CBAC day 5.Pours a hazy medium copper with her a nice frothy off white head that leaves tons of lace. Aroma of caramel, wet cardboard, grassy hops, earth and light fruity esters. Taste is a bit of a mess, caramel and then live grassy, earthy hops with some musky cardboard and a really unpleasant astringent bitterness. Good base here but the balance really leaves something to be desired here.

BeerAdvent 2013 Day Five. Pours hazy amber, no head. Nose is floral muted citrus and caramel. Flavour is paper, caramel, earthy/floral hops, more paper mixed with the bitterness and chlorophenols on the finish. Bad batch, obviously. Not atrocious, though, as the florals on the nose are nice. Itís just that this style of beer canít mask the papery and medicinal qualities. At least Iím not alone this time. :P

Initial aroma was of solvent like, almost paint thinner. Weak grassy hop aroma in the background, not much by way of any caramel or toastiness from the Munich malt until it warmed quite substantially. Flavour was very minimal, and bland. Nothing stood out. Was just a lac lustre beer that I would avoid again.

Craft beer advent calendar day 5! Pours a semi-clear orangey copper with a small white head that leaves some lace. Aroma is caramel, some off aromas(having a hard time identifying but kinda cardboard like), grassy, earthy, and mild fruity esters. Taste is cardboard, caramel, grainy, earthy, light citrus, and stale grass. Something is just off with this beer.

Pours an oddly... Not amber? Aroma is light citrusy. Taste is initially some citrus, but then some uhh vegetables? Some mild funkiness. huh? Quite sweet, a bit of a mess.

Craft Beer Advent Calendar #5! Not sure about this one... The other reviews have been accurate. The citrus and burnt flavours donít go too well together on this one and the bitterness is a bit overwhelming. Not what Iíd want to drink at the pub if I visited the coast where the brewery is!

Havenít rated in forever but Iím working my way through the 2013 beer advent calendar and so far Iím seriously underwhelmed. Not one of the first 5 beers has rated more than a 50 on RB. This beer pours a slightly murky orange amber with thin lace of cream head. Aroma is faintly hoppy but overwhelmed by a bizarre Irish stew note. Worrying. Taste is slightly citrusy but with a weird vegetal character akin to root vegetables (dare I say yams?). Finish is slightly sweet with bitterness consumed by odd funkiness. Generally a mess. So far this advent calendar is the proverbial lump of coal wrapped in a ribbon. Things better improve or you guys are the grinches who stole beer Christmas.

Advent Day 5. Hazy golden amber. Lasting head. Aroma has some citrus. Flavour is citrus, malt and a strong taste like they almost lost the batch.

Amber pour with white head. Aroma is caramel, sweet, toasted malts. Flavour has more sweet and biscuity malts with more sweetness than I prefer. Slight corn taste through the finish.

Super malty amber ale. Not very hoppy and nicely bitter. Smells malty and pour a dark red.
