Our Year round blueberry brew is a hybrid Kolsh style. Fermented at colder temperatures, but using our American Ale strain minimizes conflicting fruity esters. We feel that the addition of juice from real, hand pressed, Rhode Island Blueberries shouldn’t have to compete with the natural fruit background of the yeast. Pale Malt makes up the base of the grist bill, but this brew also calls for a large amount of malted wheat, an ingredient that lends a soft mouthfeel to the beer. Further there is enough caramalt to ensure a sweetness everyone will enjoy. Hops are chosen to compliment and balance the brew as it is bittered with a small amount of Magnum and flavored with English Pilgrim to lightly accent this truly unique Ale.

Great sugar blueberry scent. Almost artificial and syrupy. Very sweet. Nice deep yellow color with a light mouth feel. Tap

Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt and artificial blueberries. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long light grainy and blueberry finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft to fizzy

Bottle. A more or less clear one, dark golden in color and with a small, off-white head. The aroma is dominated by blueberries, unfortunately it’s in a quite artificial way. Some generic fruityness and a biscuity malt touch too. The flavor is pretty much the same, artificial blueberry and biscuity malts, but there’s also some piney, grassy hops and bitterness. Medium to thin on the palate, with a soft carbonation. Fake, grainy finish. Not actually bad this one, but way too artificial for my liking. 150609

Pours a cloudy golden orange color with minimal white head. Aroma of blueberry and wheat. Mostly blueberry sweetness with some caramel and wheat. Loses flavor at the end.

Bottle from Whole Foods PM. Pours hazy copper with a finger of off-white head. Nose is blueberry, caramel malt. Tastes of caramel malt, mild blueberry, smooth but somewhat bland finish.

on tap at Dog & Bull in Croydon - nice and refreshing. Major blueberry aroma. Definitely some blueberry in the flavor as well, but not overpowering.

Bottle from Nikki’s Liquors. Clear lighter orange pour with a quickly dissipating white head. Soft blueberry over sweet grain. Sweetness almost comes off artificial - a little bit. So-so.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy bright golden color with a medium sized foamy yellow-white head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy sugar, blueberry and a touch of blue raspberry. The flavor was bitter and dryish with cardboard and faint vague berries. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Bottle. Pours a clear light copper body under a small fizzy beige head that faded to a wispy film. The nose is big on the blueberry, and there’s not a whole lot more than that going on. There’s a little caramel malt sweetness in there as well. The flavor is pretty well the same, though the blueberry isn’t quite as intense. Lingering honey sweetness on the finish. Lighter bodied with a bit of clinginess and soft fizzy carbonation. Meh, a one trick pony, like most blueberry beers.

12 oz. bottle. Amber color with a purple hue. The aroma is light blueberry and honey malt. The flavor is the same. I bet this was a fan favorite back in 2004 or 2005. But the thin body, weak grain and soapy blueberry just doesn’t do it for me. Weak like 80 percent of fruit based beers.
