COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Year round blueberry brew is a hybrid Kolsh style. Fermented at colder temperatures, but using our American Ale strain minimizes conflicting fruity esters. We feel that the addition of juice from real, hand pressed, Rhode Island Blueberries shouldn’t have to compete with the natural fruit background of the yeast. Pale Malt makes up the base of the grist bill, but this brew also calls for a large amount of malted wheat, an ingredient that lends a soft mouthfeel to the beer. Further there is enough caramalt to ensure a sweetness everyone will enjoy. Hops are chosen to compliment and balance the brew as it is bittered with a small amount of Magnum and flavored with English Pilgrim to lightly accent this truly unique Ale.

Pours a nice coppery yellow. Aroma is all fresh blueberries. Taste is light, just slightly sweet with a tart blueberry finish...pretty much no hop presence. This actually is just about all that you could ask of a fruit beer and definately not too sweet.

#19 - pours cloudy amber, good head but quickly fades. Smells of sweet blueberry, raspberry jam and some banana. Taste is a dry, mild blueberry. Carbonation up front that blocks the flavour at first, easing into blueberry. OK if you want to change things up. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours orange gold with white head. A bit overcarbonated. Nose is fresh blueberry, banana and wheat malt. Taste is same, but muted blueberry. A touch of metal in finish. Lighter medium body.

Pours golden in color with a soft sudsy white head. Sweet fresh blueberry aroma and taste with a light malt undertone...you can tell that it is real vs syrup flavor. Notes: On tap at the brewery ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

BeerAdvent 2013 Day Nineteen. Hazy gold, white head. Nose is Blueberry, slight sulphur, floral. Flavour is malt, blueberry, mineral water. Sipped as it was winter, but in summer I could see this being extremely chuggable, it’s quite refreshing. Better than the average fruit beer.

Bottle. Pours a pale golden color with a thin, quickly evaporating head. Aroma as expected is heavy blueberry. Taste is rather like a blueberry flavored bud light. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rating #844 - December 19, 2013 - Beer 19 of the Craft BeerAdvent Calendar. Clear golden pour with a weak white foam. Aroma is that of a fruit explosion muffin from Tim Horton’s. Crisp mouthfeel dominated by sweetness and berries, and a dry, peppery spiceyness with notes of oversteeped tea and rubbish in the malt profile. Perhaps mentally judged too harshly as I’m not a big fruit beer fan, and the other two Newport beers in the calendar were underwhelming.

Bottle, Craft Beer Advent Calendar 2013. Medium gold, average white head. Aroma is that of a blueberry muffin, blueberries and cakey-sweet malt. Authentic wild blueberry flavour, lightly perfumey, with lightly toasted pale malts. Much better than I expected. I finished it and was satisfied.
