(March 1st- April 30th) Deep ruby red in color, this well balanced ale has roasted malt tones and a crisp hop character. It is in the Irish tradition and comes just in time for springtime thunderstorms.

Clear nutty color with a fine off white head. Good intensity in the aroma. Medium + body and a fine carbonation. Tad sweet and a fine bitterness. A bit oily texture. Bready, pine, fruity and hoppy flavor. A quite nice and tasty ale.

Another brew in the mediocre brew mass purchase made for guests who drank none. Reddish pour small head. Nose is herbal and brown sugar. Tastes of toasted malt, brown sugar, caramel, herbal, light red fruit, and that’s it. Semi sweet palate.

Amber color and mild hoppy aroma. Standard red taste, a little watery. Decent red but nothing special. On tap at cask fest.

Bottle. Dark copper. Dominant caramel malts and some dark fruit. Interesting choice for a spring release but, very solid all around. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, nuts, caramel, malt dust and hint of chocolate. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long malty, nutty and caramel finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. It’s more like a brown ale but still very nice.

On tap at the taproom. Almost clear in the glass, dark amber in color and with a small, dense, beige head. Nutty, earthy, roasted aroma with a nice fruityness and a piney touch. Coffee hints. The flavor has a nice bitterness, it’s dry and medium to full bodied and a nice carbonation level. Roasted malts, bread, nuts and coffee hints. All lasting for a good while. Pretty wonderful this one, would go well with burger, cheese, pizza and lots of other good food. 150607

Bottle. Pours a clear light amber body under a one finger frothy beige head that had decent retention. The nose is fairly dry with some earthy malt and some minimal hopping. There’s a bit of caramel in there, but it’s not central to the aroma. The flavor is a little overly grainy with toasted and dry husky grain. Just the lightest bitterness on the finish It’s a bit rough in texture, but at least it’s not overly sweet. Light bodied with fizzy carbonation. Decent effort at the style.
