(March 1st- April 30th) Deep ruby red in color, this well balanced ale has roasted malt tones and a crisp hop character. It is in the Irish tradition and comes just in time for springtime thunderstorms.

kramer (5346) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 3, 2015
Bottle. Pours a clear light amber body under a one finger frothy beige head that had decent retention. The nose is fairly dry with some earthy malt and some minimal hopping. Thereís a bit of caramel in there, but itís not central to the aroma. The flavor is a little overly grainy with toasted and dry husky grain. Just the lightest bitterness on the finish Itís a bit rough in texture, but at least itís not overly sweet. Light bodied with fizzy carbonation. Decent effort at the style.

Purchased a 12 oz. bottle off the clearance rack at Bottles, Providence, RI. Color is a clear Amber with very little head or carbonation. Aroma is toasted grain and caramel. Flavor is horrible even for the age. Has a herbal hop of sorts that balances the malt. Mild traces of sugar. Pretty simple and follows the style guidelines.

Nice, strong aroma with bread, wood, nuts, and maybe a little pipe tobacco. After that, the flavor is disappointing, water and with some vegetal funk. OK, but not worth seeking out.

12 oz bottle. Pours copper with small, short-lived, fluffy white head. Aroma is of bread crust, herbal hops and some caramel. Body is medium and crisp. Herbal, earthy hop, bready malt and caramel combine on the palate. Finish is long, bitter, and astringent. I would not buy this brew again.
