3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Smells yummy. Yeasts, floral notes, and citrus notes as well. Pours a hazy orangish color with a nice frothy off-white head. Lots of carbonation in the start. Hoppy and bitter in the end. Just doesnt seem "right". I dont know, this one is off.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours light copper with a thick, cream-colored head. Aroma of caramel and lightly nutty malts with floral and light citrus hops. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A decent beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the new brewery. This is the fourth out of four samples the poured as part of the tour. The pour some good sized samples here! As for the beer... the aroma and flavor of the Cascades are well noticable having brewed with them often. Distinct citrus and spice notes. Color is a medium orange-yellow. Crisp, slightly sticky finish. Would not be my first choice on a hot summer day, but otherwise a well-made IPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
355 ml bottle. From Newport, RI.
Clear amber colour with small to average sized white head.
Caramel malt sweetness and exotic fruity hops in tempting aroma.
Bitter citrus hops, lingering American hops, grapefruit and some maltiness in deliciously balanced flavour. Excellent tasty IPA. Very good for a Summer Ale.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The citrus aroma jumps right at you. Loaded with hops. Has a very thin head and the color is a deep copper. Very active carbonation. Has a citrus sour taste. A mild bitter aftertaste. One of the better IPA’s I’ve had as and I’m not a huge fan of the style to begin with and this one isn’t too bad.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Color is dark clear caramel brown. Very bubbly with very think foamy white head. Aroma is of grapefruit and piney hops. Taste is the same as aroma, however more piney hops follows thru the sip, leaving a bitterness in the finish and the mouth dry. Not a fan. Not what I think of when the label says “Summer Ale”. Very disappointed to find out that it was an IPA.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle, purchased @ Nikki’s Liquors in Providence, RI. Hazy orange in color. Thick full, fluffy head. Good retention and lacing down the pint glass. Smell of malt and light citrus hops. Taste follows the nose. The front end of the sips gives piney hops leading to light caramel malt in the background. Medium body. Minimal bitterness in the finish. Very mild, light and smooth. Some good drinkability. I actually like this IPA. And it was unexpected for an summer ale.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is different then most summer ales. When I think summer ale I think of wheat beers, but this is full ipa with a fair amount of hops. Out of bottle.

Draft on block island. Pours a light copper color with a small off white head. Nose is hoppy and bready, floral hops. Palate is medium with a refreshing light carbonation. Flavor is citrusy with some bready notes and a refreshing finish.

Had this one at the American Craft Beer Fest in Boston. Golden pour, taste was bread, light citrus, and plenty of hops. Nice and balanced, fun to have an IPA for a summer ale, especially when it’s still the easy drinking you’d expect from a summer beer.
