Bottle. Not much aroma, mostly roasted coffee beans, and a little earthy aspects. Pours like any other porter. Still dark, still nice head. Light and fizzy in the mouth and VERY roasty. It’s like chewing on coffee beans. Almost no sense of the alcohol. Decent.

Smooth and roasty, Newport Blizzard Porter is a very nice beer. Good hop/malt flavor. Nice chocolate undertone, coffee and very drinkable. Eggshell head out of bottle. Good beer, if more Newport Storm was available I’d stock it in my regular rotation.

Tap @ NEBF. a light black (if there is such a thing) color with a small foamy tan head. Nose is coffee and chocolate. taste is fizzy, kinda harsh, notes of coffee and some light malt, wee bit of hopps mixed in.

Copper in color with a small off-white head. Aroma of nuts, sweet caramel malt and roasted malt. Sweet malt starts and leads into a roasted dry finish.

The look I love: dark, almost black body under a nice tan head. Aroma was lightly chocolate, roasted grain, some hops, some coffee. Not very intense. The mouthfeel was light bodied for a porter. A little too much carbonation for my tastes and too watery. The flavor was subtle and pleasant but not robust as a poter should be. Same notes of chocolate and coffee and light hops.

Very dark brown, but see through, little head. Aroma had notes of chocolate and some roastiness. Chocolate and roast flavors dominate, emphasis on the roast. Balanced overall, with some nice depth of flavor, without getting cloying or astringent. This is well made, but I just couldn’t get into it for some reason. I think I’m losing my palate for porters.

Roasty smell over a blackish (with a wee bit of ruby showing through if you look carefully) color. Malty and hoppy with a big chalky, roasty flavor.

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown body with mahogany highlights and a small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Mouthfeel was a bit thin and had a slightly bitter finish. Flavor of chocolate and coffee.

a really nice porter. dark brown pour with a tan head. smells like coffee and chocolate, a nice sweet and malty beer. not bad in the least, certainly something to drink again as well as recommend to anyone who favors the style.
