3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Roasted aroma and a nice appearance. More roastedness follows with a nice balance between roasted and chocolate and some crystal sweetness. Slightly dry with a good hop balance. Dry and earthy. Nicely malted brew.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Roasty smell over a blackish (with a wee bit of ruby showing through if you look carefully) color. Malty and hoppy with a big chalky, roasty flavor.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a translucent deep brown with a thin tan head that disipated quickly to a thin film. Smells molases, coffee, and malt. Tastes of mocha, buttery toffee, and hop bitterness in the finish. Medium-light body with medium carbonation. Goes down ultra-smooth and doesnít have that plastic-like taste that make some winter brews a little less pleasant.

Bottle. Iíll most likely re-rate this beer when I get another bottle of this, because I have a hunch that this beer was skunky. Heavily bodied with a sour aftertaste.

This has a nice dark color and a rather thin head with some really nice laceing alongthe sides of the glass. the aroma is nice and earthy with a floroal finish to it. As I take a sip it is nice and creamy and has some hints of wood which makes it very refreshing.
