3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Originally rated February 2007. Came in a Brasserie Lefebvre 8-pack sampler at the SAQ. Says this beer contains 15% applejuice. Best before date written is L04012008. Pours a hazy beige-white-yellow colour looking like pear juice. Wow... great fruit smell (apples, pears), almost candyish. The head is white, slightly creamy and leaves good lacing, and a ring around. Tiny bubble carbonation that is nice and soft. The taste is pretty mild, but quite refreshing and delicious. Again, the apples and pears flavour mix well. Quite good (probably for summer), and too bad this one does not come at the SAQ as a regular brew. Recommended for those who like mild fruit beers.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Carbonisation moyenne. Arrière goût fruité. La Newton est une bière très désaltérante. (Rating #85)

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
33cl bottle, gift from friend, consumed at home on 25th January 2010. Pours cloudy yellow/gold with fizzy head that lasts seconds. Quite an interesting novelty beer. Hop aromas are prevalent initially before quite a sweet apple flavour kicks in; this lasts to the end culminating in a slightly tangy apple finish (cox/grannysmith notes) together with a little berry fruit and just a hint of the hops remaining. Generally fizzy texture/lively mouthfeel. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavour generally - actually tastes like a beer combined with fresh apple, rather than a cider. It delivered more than I expected for a bottled 3.5%ABV product. The marks I have awarded rate the beer as a novelty product, drunk and enjoyed as such.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Slightly cloudy yellow color. Yeasty, apple concentrate aroma. Very sweet, fake apple body, semi-tart palate. Too sweet and the concentrated apple concoction doesn’t help it’s cause, but the yeastiness and bottle conditioning makes this a clear winner over beers such as Niagara Apple Ale.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle stolen off Uncle John. Gilette suds, witbier mist and intricate lace. Aroma green stalk with fine silvery hairs, apple custard tart, definite wood. Taste unsynthetic, non-virtual apple crumble, a dab of artificial sweetener, but what the hell. I’ll hate myself for saying this in the morning, but this is an enjoyable sweetshop beer, an unguilty pleasure, a sweet-sour apple gobstopper cutting through all the shitty indifferent ’real’ ale I’ve been presented with this evening, and an OK commercial fruit beer.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Kinda odd. Looks slightly opaque, smells artificial apple, but tastes pretty nice - like a hefeweisen with an apple note. Creamy, sweet, with nice fruity end. Slightly reminding of a cider. Definitely not a Fanta as Polish fruit beers mostly are. Have to admit that this is quite good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Hazy medium yellow color with a average fizzy fair lacing white head. Aroma is moderate fruty, apple, citrus. Initial flavor is moderate sweet and light acidic, light to moderate bitter, finish flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. Very refreshing, nice aperitif in the summer time, good fruit beer.
