Newtons Folly Authentic Draft Cider

Very sweet with lots of sugar in the aroma and flavor. Minimal apple. Fairly smooth. Amber color. Drinks easy enough but has little to offer besides a very low price.

[bottle] shared by JK. I’m fairly new to ciders, so I’m not sure what to look for. Pours straw gold with little to no head. Aroma is tart apples. Flavor is pretty much just apples with not much else. Mouthfeel is syrupy, but ends dry.

Picked up at the Trader Joe’s in Orland Park, Il - Deep golden bodied and well carbonated, drinking this cider is pretty much like drinking some sweet apple juice with a fizz to it. Except that there’s a metallic twang in the finish. About all this inoffensive drink has going for it is that there’s alcohol in it. That ’s not why I drink ciders, beers, meads and sakes, but if it’s blah, there may at least be some buzz quality to it.

Purchased at Trader Joe’s. Pours clear golden with a small white head. The aroma is red apples that seem a bit fake. Medium crisp body with light carbonation. The flavor starts with semi-sweet red apples and some spice. The finish has a decent pulpy taste to it. A decent cider.

Green bottle from Trader Joe’s. Slightly musty cider aroma. Brilliant copper color with some white bubbles that totally disappeared. Medium body with mild fizzy carbonation. The flavor is something like a light applesauce without the sugar and spice. Very clean, rather crisp. Finishes tart and almost dry, with red appleskin notes.

Bottle from Trader Joe’s. Not really sure how to rate this. Basically apple juice with some carbonation and apparently some alcohol. Looks and tastes like a sweet yet tart glass of juice.
