Commercial Description:
Niagara’s Best Blonde Premium Ale is our flagship brand. It is a multi-award winning ale (twice named Ontario’s Best Cream Ale as well as receiving prizes at beer festivals and shows) which is sold at select LCBO’s and Beer Stores across Niagara and the GTA. We chose a blonde ale as our first beer since it is the ale variety that many consider to be the closest taste to traditional lager beers. It’s a beer that appeals to all beer drinkers and that is why our Niagara’s Best Blonde is so popular.

341 ml bottle from brewery. Pours golden in colour, large big white frothy head, which dissipates quickly, but leaves some lacing. Aroma is light, sweet malt. Taste is similar, with earthy hop finish. Pretty decent!

On tap at Niagara’s Best. Pours a clear golden yellow with a thin white head. Piles of grain, little bit of hops. Creamy, lots of grain and slightly acrid cardboard and paper flavors. Finishes dry and really grainy. One of their weaker beers.

Clear golden/blonde. Quickly disappearing head. Smell is weak, sweet, yeasty, herbacious. Bright clean mouthfeel, med carbo. Flavour is much weaker than the nose. Nothing worth mentioning.

on cask at volo cask days. dry hopped cask version. hoppy nose over biscut malts. some grain and hay but the hops over power this. the body is a little thin but this was a palatable middle of the road well hopped simple ale. i think id pass on this in bottles but id have it on cask again and might try it on tap.

Bottle. Pours golden and carbonated in a tall pilsner glass with a very short but slightly creamy head. Aromas of grass, pine, with slightly metallic scent (but not poured from a can). Flavour is sweet with a moderate herbal quality and plenty of unpleasant metallic aspects. Not a lot here to distinguish from Macro brand lager type brews.

Better then I expected. Pours a blonde colour (go figure) with a white head that quickly dissolves to a film. The aroma is....strange, smells like what I would say is the inside of a wet tree trunk....but not in a bad way? then there’s some notes of grains, and something sweet, with a touch of hops. The flavour is pretty decent, some real grainy bready whole wheat flavours, with malty sweetness, and a mild, lightly sour hops finish. The palate is crisp, and clean with medium carbonation. A pretty pleasant surprise all and all, wouldn’t mind going to this brewery and trying it fresh on draught.
